KION 2020

having read about KIONs plans for 2020 and the fact they want a EBIT of double digits i wonder is this something you would want your customers yo know. Are they paying a higher price for you equipment that will do the same as any other forklift. after all they will all move one pallet or material form one point to another.

KION will say that they can do this quicker and at a lower cost with linde but dont other manufactures offer hydrostatic trucks. In the developing markets Baoli aren't hydrostaic so how will they compare.

Are KION being a bit arrogrant to say we will have the highest prices for our Linde trucks premium Brand and the best EBIT because our customers will pay for this.

I have read in our local press in construction machinery middle east that a company plans to have a Middle eastern brand to shake up the market. like what Emirates have done in the Airline industry. Would this effect KION plans

here are a couple of quotes first from KION annual report

What makes changes into innovations?
Innovations are products, processes and business
models that inspire customers, who are only prepared
to spend money on genuine added value, which ultimately
is what makes innovation financially successful.
As well as improvements to products, which
are often minor, it can also include new products,
service optimisations

second from local press

Where we are today is where the mobile phone industry was ten years ago. Back then you had Nokia, Blackberry, Motorola and now theyre not here. Instead, you have Apple, Samsung and HTC. All new companies that have come in; and the same is going to happen in our industry of materials handling.

They said it could never happen, it was pie in the sky. Now, theyre thinking...you see Emirates, Etihad, DP World. These are global brands.

well easy m i can now see were you are coming from and in this instance i can agree not all forklifts are the same. But most are.

From what the manufactures tell us there are a couple of markets premium what you might call the big five or six companies and economy the rest , This is my point would a customer want to pay the premium price for a Linde in North America to help KION hit their target or will they go for a Crown or Hyster say at 2,500KG.

It also seems to be the markets European markets seem to go for a more advanced truck. North America seem to go for a less advanced truck to Europe and the BRIC and Middle East go for a basic truck.

The point i can see is the trucks are very equal in each market linde and Junghienrich are very simular each are hydrostatic and run VW engine. Most trucks over 10,000 kg run a volvo or cummins engine so why should the customer look to pay KION prices when he can have a simular truck at a lower price

Amen to that. I wish we could gold plate that saying "All forklifts are not equal".

Customers love technology- until they have to pay to fix it!
Do you plan on moving that load more than once? How many loads per hour, per week, per year? What's the fuel consumption, tire wear, maintenance intervals. What's the lifecycle of the machine?

What's the cost to move a load from point A to point B?

All forklifts are not equal.

Nice to Know i made you laugh easy m but what i said is a fact any 2,500kg forklift will move 2,500kg from one point to a offer.

"...after all they will all move one pallet or material form one point to another."

I just had to laugh after reading your quote above. It kind of makes the rest of your post irrelevant.
