Discussion:
Jack refuses to start??

Hello,

I have a crown wp 3000 electric jack. When I turn the key on, the red light comes on with a wrench icon and also a battery icon that flashes. Can't make it move. However the jack is fully charged, the yellow light is on and the green one too which means its fully charged but it act like its pure dead?? Whats wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your inputs guys... however since it was urgent and I start working late today there is already a crown tech that will comes to check it. If I was working sooner I would have tried your tips. Thanks anyways :)

The charger lights will still turn on even if the charger is bad. The charger should start up no matter what. It should be yellow and blink green for at least 10 seconds before both lights turn solid. If both light start solid there could be an issue with the charger.

If one of the break switches is bad, hydraulic functions will still work and no wrench light or codes will appear. You might see sro, that either means the tiller isn't in netural during start up or one of the brake switches is giving a bad input.

Still my best advice is to measure the overall battery voltage idle then put a load on the battery by using hydraulics and driving to see how far the battery voltage drops. If it drops more than 20% then one or more of the batteries are dead.

Sounds like it needs new batteries. Charger can still light up green even with bad batteries. Check voltage at the connector, with the jack turned off. Then see what voltage drops to when you turn on the jack. IF you're able to get it to lift, see what voltage drops to while lifting

I just left the shop so can't check the voltage at red light....

When I plug it, the yellow light turns on meaning charger is working and also green light on like it was full charged. But when I unplug it and turn it on, stuck here no movement possible, with the red light on, wrench key and battery icon that flash. Also, there is no code that appears.

Edit: on last friday a tech came and changed the break switch because the jack was stopping every time we turn right with it. Then all was good and used it all weekend. Then today I unplug it and boom dead lol

What is the battery voltage at the red emergency disconnect on the battery side. There is a possibility the charger is bad and thinks the batteries are full when they are dead.

Otherwise it should display a code if there is a controller issue. If not possibly one of the fuses is bad (most likely fu1) not allowing the controller to see battery voltage causing the lift to think it is dead.
