Hello Newton
I'm sorry for my English
you can exchange the two displays, you do not damage anything if they were not compatible is not lit. I have done these tests by replacing the display with the display of Japanese 7FB with the display of 7FBMF from this but come on, I can see what number it is.
The display connector cables are relevant for the cable data is not responding to the CPU that is off.
Regards Franco

Thanks Franco, I appreciate the input, but I'm still left guessing as I don't understand Italian... (I'm guessing it's Italian)

non fossero compatibili Not compatible?
dati non risponde alla CPU Won't respond to CPU data??

Any translators out there??? Franco, could you answer in english?

Thanks,
John N.

Saluti Franco

Really, no one knows if it would be a drop in replacement? I thought this would be a pretty simple question. At $2,000 each I'm hesitant to try without knowing for sure.....
