Discussion:
Improper Lift Operation

We have a Daewoo GC30s. The first stage will full travel to the top before the second stage begins to move upward just as it should, when there is no load on the forks. However, when lifting a load the second stage will begin to move upward almost immediately with first stage, then telescope upward to full travel. Our operators are complaining about having trouble controlling the down function of the forks when placing a load on our storage racks approx. 8-10 feet above floor level.

Thank you for the info. I have the cylinder out and will check what you suggest. I'll post an update Monday evening.

Sounds like a hydraulic mistage issue which was common with older Daewoo/Doosan freelift cylinders. if no other causes are apparent a reseal of freelift cylinder and replacement of staging/check valve in bottom of freelift cylinder piston will resolve your problem.

That could be a bad roller bearing in the fork carriage. With no load, lift the forks about 3 feet, shut off machine, go around and lift up on the fork tips and see if the carriage is very loose in the channels.
