i wonder what happened to the future of forklift discussion

I wonder why the future of forklift discussion has diapered,
may be it was because manufactures don't like to here what is true and Lithium iron batteries do catch fire

When I get my transporter beam perfected , look out. I will really show you the future of material handling. With that said , I will not waste any more of Exhausts time.

Exalt you are in dreamland to think the automotive sector even looks to material handling as a source for ideas.
My colleagues in advanced research are looking at other areas far removed for the world of mechanics for new potential technological advances

Forkingabout as the IMHX show is in September 2019 then I cant see any reason why we should not do it. We are looking at doing something a little different for trade shows, so if we can get these things sorted then yes we will be there.

Triumphrider If you were wanting a truck for the Middle East then depending on truck spec engine mainly and truck size lifting capacity we would intend to be able to have a lead time of 8 weeks, But if I was to say 12 - 14 weeks to start with that would be sufficient.

ChrisK I think its hard to link on forkliftaction but we will have something that will allow people to see the truck, it might not be a link but there will be something so yes people can see , and no doubt they will give their opinion on it

So when it gets debuted, will you be linking the info for us to see? Or will that be another one of your "I could tell you, but do your own work" times?

After you unveil your new equipment how long of a lead time is needed to order your new unit and have on location? BTW I dealt with some of the top fab people in the world while in Dubai.

First point is i said the Truck will be shown in Dubai in early 2019 not that will be entering the global market in early 2019, We have the staff we need and some very good contracting people, I don't know who you dealt with when you were in Dubai, but you can be assured we are dealing with well respected families who have operated in Dubai for many, many years,

We have also dealt with the companies in the forklift industry that know how to play the system that's why we have come up with our own way to market the trucks using our own sales people, By the way these people will have the opportunity to earn six figure sums.

We also know about after sales and parts delivery and this is one reason we will concentrate on the markets we intend to first before expanding into other markets,

Let me get this straight, you are going to roll out this equipment in 2019 fully de bugged and ready to go to 100% with no further real world testing. Full service and parts depts. to fully support this equipment. Lets see how you deal with contractors who know how to game the system. You are going to find out these people have been ripped off so much in the past that they are going to be ahead of the curve you thought you had cornered. I know several contractors in the industrial sector who just lay in wait for people who really think they know the industries they are trying to get into. You can have the best product on the market but with no after the sale support , and operated by real worldclass idiots we will see how your game changer really changes the real world market place. BTW when I worked in Dubai I noticed All THE SKILLED LABOR SUCH AS WELDERS, MACHINISTS, LAY OUTPEOPLE AND OTHER PEOPLE NEEDED TO RUN A MFG FACILITY LIKE YOU GOING TO REQUIRE ARE NOT FROM DUBAI. YOU PAY THROUGH THE NOSE FOR THESE SKILL SETS TO RUN SUCH A SHOP. YEAH RIGHT , CONTRACT IT OUT.

@triumprider - made contact with my bookie & Carnac & here is what I found:
1. My bookie "Fast Eddy" McGoldRich - good old Irish lad for sure. He said the odds of this happening by early 2019 are the same as the Detroit Lions playing in the Super Bowl in early 2019 or any other year to the far future and those odds so happens to be the exact same odds as I will win any Mega Million jackpot at any time in the future.
I trust in what Fast Eddy says we go back a long ways. Here's why - first met him in Homewood, IL (southside Chicago area) in the early 70s - he was a bookie then. On July 7, 1977 or 07/07/77, Fast Eddy called me and he had a sure thing on a long shot horse running a Washington Park Race track that night, race time 7:77 pm. He said it was the 7th horse in the 7th race and the odds will be 777 to 1 to win. I said thanks. With all those 7s lining up, went to the bank and withdrew $777. Place my bet and sure enough all the 7s lined up perfectly and the horse came in 7th.
2. Got a hold of Carnac the Magnificent - whose was the famous "Mystic from the East who could psychically "divine" unknown answers to unseen questions - Sounded to me a person who would know. Carnac frequently appeared on The Tonight Show. Carnac said he loved to help but he retired on May 22, 1992 the same night the late Johnny Carson did. But he did referred me to a Mystic here in the Atlanta area that he recommends but a bit pricey. So as soon as I get enough $$ into my Go Fund Me account I'll go see them - see I'm retired and don't make those big bucks any more - like all y'all do.

"Like i have said we have agreed a funding deal now and we can and will produce the new truck at the beginning of 2019 and yes it will be a game changer in the materials handling industry."

I'm checking with my bookie in Los Vegas & the late "Carnac the Magnificent" to see what the odds of this happening are right now.
I'll let you know what they said after I talk to them.

Global manufactures with both material handling and automotive vehicles in their brand are at the forefront of the industry- sharing technology, Electric vehicle design and software has progressed in both sectors, safety features from formula one cars ended up on a well know forklift brand

Software is the new technology the ability for an engineer to calibrate equipment to suit individual customer sites and requirements, as health and safety progresses in this industry equipment must be tailored to their needs, even telematics for engines as well as fleet equipment proves manufactures warranty claims if its has been serviced or not including software updates.. even battery management software in chargers

Amalgamation or joint ventures of manufacturing is the way forward saving of cost in rd and design

No That will come from the automotive industry, One automotive companies yearly spend on R&D would be more than the hole materials handling industry would spend over five years.

What might happen is ideas thought up in the materials handling industry and that will be shown to work in the materials handling industry, might then move to the automotive industry. It's easier to start something in the materials handling industry than t is in the automotive industry

Its like i said before the materials handling industry has had electric trucks long before the automotive. and like you have pointed out all the advances in electric vehicles have come from the automotive side

Ah so what you really mean is that material handling has been using electric vehicles albeit with old and long established technologies unlike the automotive sector which is using more advanced electric vehicle technologies, algorithms, materials, design etc etc for a shorter period of time.
I wonder which sector will drive new electric and battery technologies in the future. Oh that's a tough one to call!!
