Discussion:
Hyster E2.5XL acceleration

Hey all. Having issues with my electric truck. We seem to have creep speed, and max speed, but nothing in between. Acceleration is very VERY slow! Im not sure what SCR is used, but is doesnt seem to be the standard EV100?! There are no labels on the componants, and the only markings i can see are "ELCON" on the PCB cover, and "PPI" on 2 seperate components. Does anyone have any idea where to look?

Thanks - Yes, spoken to Elcon. Very helpful chap.

He talked me through a few basic tests, which came back OK, then he kindly faxed me the datasheet on the logic unit.

Found that Pot E for acceleration rate was wound about 8 turns out too much!

Managed to sort out a few other items on the truck too.

Thanks elektrodrive

HI Tommy

Seems like the truck has been retrofitted with an elcon system. You need to check the for controller to make sure your getting a proper voltage wipe. Sometimes its the settings which can be adjusted by using the trimmer pots. It could be that your getting slow speed but the top speed might be that the bypass is coming in (if it has one fitted).
I would ring elcon and give them a call they are usually helpful.

Quick update, The truck is a Hyster E2.5XL, with an Elcon controller, and albright contactors, with PPI branded SCR's. As this is not a standard EV100 setup, Can anyone help with how to check the motor is getting the power it needs?

Thanks
