Discussion:
Hyd oil in crankcase

I have hydraulic oil gradually filling up the 4 cyl continental flathead enging crankcase. What is my problem?

To my knowledge the problem developed right after having the main 3 stage cylinder rebuilt.

You men are correct. I guess I'm getting too old and loosing my eyesight. It is extremely hard to see what is down and on front of engine. Looks like a parts hunt and busy week of play. Any advice or tricks I need to know about other than take it all apart and put it all together with new seals?

Thanks

mrfixit is right, there must be a pump- either the main hydraulic or the power steering pump which is driven off of the front timing case cover in order for hydraulic oil to be entering the engine. I'm not familiar with your exact truck but that's the only way it can happen

Customers love technology- until they have to pay to fix it!
Isn't it on the right side and uses the front timing gears of the motor to drive it? Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the only way for the oil to get in the motor.

Is the pump you refer to inside what you might call the bellhousing of a vehicle?

The hydraulic pump that is bolted on the motor has a blown seal allowing oil to get out and into the crankcase.
