One of my forklift dealer clients started selling Heli trucks about 15 years ago. Then they had some troubles, butthey reacted very well to suggestions to improve design.
Now I have 3 clients selling Heli forklift trucks. Heli offers various combinations of engines, uprights, etc. If you get a HEli with a Japonses engine, German uprights, etc it is a top of the line machine that competes against the best the the competition has to offer.
There are two problems for Heli dealers: 1, Heli does not want to give exclusivity to anybody and at any moment can be naming another dealer in your area. 2. For forklift truck dealers the big money is in selling spare parts. Heli trucks don't breakdown enough. They don't generate enough spare parts sales.
I have stated this before. Chinese trucks have their place, low hour users. DO NOT sell those trucks to a customer that puts lots of hours on them or that uses them hard. Example: Scrap yards, beverage packers, etc.
The trucks will not hold up at all and you will just have a very dissatisfied customer. I am speaking from my own experience.
We just started selling Heli lifts, and so far I have replaced both shift levers and one radiator.Other than that they are very good trucks. These two have 500 hours on them, and the only warranty was the radiator.
Anyone have any comments about the Heli Forklift?????
They seem to be okay from the outside.
