Goodsense

Hi All,

Can anyone on here give me some feedback on Goodsense Forklifts?
I know they are Chinese, how is the quality and overall experience?

If you do a quick Google search on the owner of Octane it raises more red flags for me. Personally, I just can't see myself having a productive and long lasting business relationship with someone who looks like they use the words "dude" and "bro" as liberally as this individual.

Kudos to him for building what he has though. He has made enough money to purchase a nice shiny Lamborghini.

In my neck of the woods the octane forklift is a bad word. I'm not bad mouthing it but I have a lot of customers that have low our octanes parked in the corner of their warehouse because they cannot obtain parts or service support. As a matter fact I have one octane parked at my shop that has less than 500 hours with a bad transmission. The customer cannot fix it because he cannot get parts. Never mind the fact he is willing to overlook the lack of warrantee octane provided and pay for the repairs with money out of his own pocket, but he can't even get a call back from octane for parts.

The major issue with with any brand of trucks is the after sale product support - parts availability, technical assistance response time, service response time, dealer network, trained & knowledgeable service personnel, etc. All the customers wants is to have their lifts up and running in the shortest time available. Response time is the key issue. I have yet to see any brand of lift truck that was perfect (even with the #1 lift truck company in the world) and without any "unique" issues or in need of repairs - warranty or otherwise. Customers just don't want to wait many days to get parts from overseas to fix their units. All the major players in the lift truck world have established product support systems already set up after decades of development. Newcomers have a long row to hoe to catch up to people like Crown, Toyota, Caterpillar/Mitsubishi, Yale/Hyster, Raymond, etc. Anyone can design a lift truck or copy a design and produce it, but it takes time & big money to set up a "support" network that is comparable to those that have been around for decades.

When I joined Mitsubishi in the US in 1984 (strictly importing product from Japan), annual units sales were in the neighborhood of 600 units/year, had a warehouse facility of about 98K sq. ft. - annual sales quickly changed in a short period of time - dealers were in place product back-up was in place parts on shelf in the US w/ fill rates of 90%+ and a warehouse full of new units 600-900 (units from 3 K to 30K capacity - cushion pneumatic & electric) - how did I know that, we, meaning everybody in the company took physical inventory of the parts at least once per year & whole good items at least twice per year, some times more often - yeah that was fun & I like sleeping on a bed of nails too.. In 1986, went to Japan , my first trip & we celebrated the shipment of the 5000 engine powered product shipped to the US - the Saki flowed.....but look at them now. As it has been said "You've Come a Long Way Baby". Just glad to be a part of the growth - hard work & lots of fun.

I think your words is a little subjective and one-sided to evaluate Chinese forklifts. With the large-scale development of Chinese basic industry during these years, China already have ability to make high quality forklifts. of course have artificial advantages, that's why most of world brand forklifts such as Toyota, Linde, Mitsubishi, Clark etc. already set up factories in China during these years, except the key parts, most of other parts also purchased from China local market, which promote Chinese forklifts technical level and international design ability.

We couldn't change the direction of the wind, but we can adjust the sails to reach the destination.
We can't ignore the fact that the chinese have massively upped their game in most fields so their forklift fits should be no different.

We cannot underestimate the strength and the amount of Chinese machines in the market and we are fully aware that parts for these Chinese machines should be available at all TVH-branches all over the world.

Feel free to contact me at any time.

Parts guy: You just re-affirmed what I stated on grey market lifts. Every manufacture makes different levels of trucks, and Octane/Goodsense is the lift designed for the North American Market. I favor the brand that suit my customer's needs the best. Thank you for sharing another source. I stated "I believe" because multiple global sources turn out different results.....to which I have control of none! One thing to note, Octane is the supplier, Goodsense is a manufacture. Much like CAT is a supplier but doesn't Mitsubishi manufacture for CAT? In stead of trying to be the source of facts, I focus on being a source of options in machines. Speaking of which. I send a lot of machines to CA, send me your contact and I will add you in my vendor list. I like to keep support services close to my machines. What product lines do you supply? We sell all brands so I have customers for them all. Have a good day guys, and we are all in the same industry. Lets support each other for the sake of our customers. I don't know a fork lift collector like a hot rod guy, who would be in a forum just for fun. It's all about the users of our services and how set them up for success.

Roscoe,

You might want to check your facts before posting.
Yes Toyota builds "grey market trucks" but these are built for specific countries and then imported into the USA. Other words not meant to be here in the USA.

Regarding the the list of top 20 I do not see Goodsence even on the list unless it is part of one of the other manufactures list.
See ranking here

Remove the space in between www mmh and com and replace with periods.

Goodsense is a world brand with an established world market. Octane is a North American brand produced by Goodsense with a very specific build spec that elects to run premium parts such as the GM 3.0 and Cummins Turbo power plants, Cascade Side Shift, etc. Octane lifts are 50 state emission compliant allowing for direct import etc. That US specific development cost a lot to develop and test, making entry into the US slower then other countries. However no expense was spared. With all major brands, different stratifications for production exist. I am not partial to a brand, I'm partial to heathy machines to suit my customers needs and budget. So when I say "Even Toyota produces a grey market or disposable lift" I am not trying to start a shoot out. But grey market or disposable, OCTANE LIFTS CERTAINLY ARE NOT! I believe globally, note BELIVE...globally Goodsence has jumped from 12 in the top 20, to number 8. I BELIVE Toyota has dropped to 7. OCTANE by Goodsence (If you will) is specific brand for the North American market. Build with parts, service and pricing for the North American business owner. We have youtube videos and quotes, materials available for every one to see what makes Octane highly competent and highly competitive. Ever wonder why CAT runs a Mitsubishi or now Nissan? Octane didn't invent the wheel, but Octane paid attention to it. Where are our cars made? Made out of country by American brands, for American's. Octane accommodates a lot of customers where more well known brands don't, particularly price, warranty, service and value at that price point. We are welcoming sub-dealers to allow Octane to help more customers get into new. Our dealership sells healthy machine of ALL brands. We just so happen to be the flag ship dealer in Octane. Any one wanting to learn more can speak with the VP of Octane directly. He is accessible by phone or email. We believe that Octane lifts are top tier product produced in partnership with Goodsense. In conclusion, we are working hard to make Octane more of a well known name and thank you for asking BirdDog86. Come drive one.

Octane forklifts? Based on your website your "Manufacturing Team" puts out 20,000 machines annually. Placing it in the top 3% of forklift manufacturers in the world. So how is it Octane is not a more common name? I am assuming you are having Goodsense private label for you.
