F18 - ECU KWP2000 Communication Error

Situation: Indication "F18" flickering, Drive Operations disabled.

Possible Cause: Faulty ECU, faulty gateway, faulty harness.

How the error code is triggered: When the KWP2000 communication from ECU to gateway is interrupted.

Checks:
Check the continuity of KWP2000 communication cable.
1. Between 719 (gateway) and 719 (ECU)

If continuity replace gateway, if error remains replace ECU.

If no continuity replace harness.

If i'm not mistaken there is a box mounted to the front engine compartment plate behind the operator cab area that contains the gateway, ECU and VCM3-0P, the cable and connections to test should be in there.

In this week’s Forkliftaction News we look at two topics coming out of LogiMAT 2025 held in Stuttgart in March. The first was the large increase in exhibitors coming from China who are making it clear they have their sights set on markets outside of China (see story). The second is a closer look at what was the main theme of the trade show - the growing rise in automation, how it is changing the sector and how enthusiastically it is being embraced by younger generations... Fact of the week
Dublin's Sean O'Casey foot-bridge is a swinging bridge which opens to allow ship passage. It was unable to open for four years from 2010 because the hand-held remote control was lost. Finally a new remote was developed and the bridge opened again in 2014.
