Discussion:
Error 36

Hi Team, I have a Jungheinrich EFG320 2005 model, serial no_ FN328402 with an error '36' (no lift sensor) can anyone give me any direction with this? everything works except for the lift function, If I pull another lever I can limp the lift into operating but it's not ideal. The pot is fine, and I can't find any broken wires. Direction please anyone? I don't have the software to diagnose it. The interface card is showing no error with a green LED, but if anyone can advise I would much appreciated it.
EDIT: PROBLEM FIXED, THANKS FOR ALL THE INPUT, TURNED OUT TO HAVE A LIFT CONTROLLER FROM A DIFFERENT TRUCK WHICH WAS LOOKING FOR A SOLO PILOT JOYSTICK, MODIFIED POTENTIOMETER RESISTANCE TO SOLVE THE ISSUE.

Thanks Wayne, I have tried taking up the slack on the lever and also swapping out the potentiometer for a new one, (then swapping back the old) with no luck. Do you think it could help having the controls 'taught in' again by a tech?

Hi Miles,

Error 36 indicates that there is no zero position for the lift function, this means that the learned value for Zero/home of the lift lever potentiometer is not being met, it is possible that the lift potentiometer is worn thus the resistance is not what it was when it was 'taught in'
This symptom could also be caused by wear in the lift lever, if the lever now rests in a different position because of worn bushes for example,
Prove this by 'taking up the slack' on the lever when you start the truck up and see if it starts up without generating the error code.

try putting unit on charge full cycle, then when it is fully charged try the lift. make sure battery level is more than 80% charged.
if not put back on charge.
when the charger starts charging wait for one minute then turn off and re plug in to unit.
this should fix the problem.

Check for speed limiting switch on side of the mast, if you google "Jungheinrich initiator" you'll know what to look for.

Thanks for the reply, the micro switches for the levers are intact, however the lift lever only has a potentiometer, no microswitch for the lever that doesn't work.

If this model does not have joystick but levers, there are microswitches at the base of each lever. The wires are thin and sole may have been worn.
