Discussion:
Engine compatibility

Hi Guys, I'm looking at an old Hyster H50 with the 4 cylinder Ford petrol engine (In Australia).
The engine has a suspected cracked block and these engines are not easily sourced here, so I was wondering if there are any other compatible engines, petrol or diesel, which would be more common.
Obviously a direct bolt up swap would be best, but will consider alternatives.

Serial number of trick would help but I'm going to bet it's an H50H/J a Perkins 4203/4203-2 will fit. Not certain about any others as you'll need a conversion plate to fit it to the transmission
