Crown WP 3000 SERIES:
Ecr loss

Ive been working on multiple types of powerd Jack's and fork trucks for a while now and have never been so stumped on something... I have 2 wp3000's that act like they have ecr loss... they barely move and it's small sporadic jerks at best... my 5v system is fine. I've tried a new ecr. I've replaced access 3. I've tried another motor. I've tried a new pot. Tried an all new handle with all new parts. I cannot see anything in the wire harness to suggest and used a meter to verify... if anyone can help it would be very much appreciated... if it helps they both worked just fine. One sat quite a while inused and the other one the operator said he hit a bump and it just started acting up. I work on a fleet of over 100 and never been so puzzled... thank you

there is a software version where you get a little rollback on plugging just as it comes to a stop. EU software and i believe latest USA software fixed this

I've seen that (the continuing to move when the tiller is up) so many times with encoder issues on the wp 3000 series Crown Seend to have an a big issues a couple of years ago with both encoders and wiring looms particularly on the wp3200. Checking the loom for continuity using ohms is good but even if the loom is damaged and just 1 strand still.attatched it can show as fine. I very much doubt this is an access 3 issue but would put money on it being the loom if the encoder has been swapped

My concern Is that I've tried multiple encoders in case of a faulty one... and I've ohmed out my wires... id swear it was an ecr but I had a crown tech in that literally said you know more than me and left me with a wtf look on my face. Just got a refurbished access 3 and motor will try... and I may just tap into wire harness and solder known good cables from A to B... im lost as to why it tries to continue moving after throttle release... ill take advice and as soon as it's figured out I'll post and maybe help some other poor lost soul... never been so baffled

I've seen this lots of times on the wp3200 it is a common fault, it will either be a faulty traction motor encoder (I've replaced lots of them) or a broken wire between the endoded and access 3 (another common fault) is the drive motor getting hot??. Basically access3 doesn't know how fast the motor is turning so just gives it max current so it nearly stalls the motor, either issues I've mentioned will give the symptoms you describe

373 and 393 on one and the other does not. When in tow mode the trucks move very freely... when in drive when engaging the throttle it slowly jerks and moves and once you release throttle with handle down truck will sometimes keep moving????

You pretty much checked all the boxes. Does it give you an error? Have u checked the brake actuators. Had a WP act similar when the actuators were replaced. Adjusted them and truck was fine.
