Yale GLC050VXNVRE085:
Directional Switch / Display

We have a faulty directional switch in the 580060625 display module on this Veracitor truck.

We removed the display module from the truck completely and removed all of the T15 Torx fasteners from it and triple checked to ensure all were removed. We broke the glue seal in the display case halves and cannot seem to get the center part (where the column goes through) to come apart.

Does anyone have any insight on how to separate the display module halves or do we not have to split the module open?

I can visually see two holes on each side of the directional switch (you would think there would be two fasteners) but we cannot locate any fastener in there to remove it.

Please give any insight to this - as other trucks in our fleet have the same setup and the switch itself is very loose and is bound to break soon and our local Briggs dealer stocks many of these switches!

THANKS!

you should know that this display has NO "user service able" parts inside, [other than the directional and key switch] and can not be swapped onto another truck to check or test, as it is programmed to check the serial numbers of other components.

Yep...
The directional switch is a magnetic type switch and like mrfixit said...
There are two plastic prongs on each end that are spring loaded.
Just push those back and it will pop right out.

HOLD EVERYTHING, that switch comes out by just pushing 2 needle shaped objects into those holes on the sides to release it. Stick the needle shaped tools in there and just pull the switch out.
