Discussion:
Diesel Engine - non runner

Hi all, working on a 2.5L 4 cylinder diesel forklift. Has a Xinchai 490BPG engine with an inline fuel pump, no glow plugs. Had to replace the fuel pump and have been unable to get the engine to start since. Had pump tested and calibrated as well as injectors tested. No ECU or electrics to mention. Have emptied fuel tank, cleaned out fuel lines, new fuel, replaced fuel filter, bled the system a number of times, reset timing, still won't start. If I loosen off bolts on injector inputs, good fuel flow. If I spray something like Quick Start in the inlet manifold, the engine basically runs, but as soon as I leave it for the diesel to take over, it dies. Any ideas?
