Discussion:
DEF contamination

I have a Hyster H155FT with a Kubota 3.8L engine with a DEF system. The DEF system may have been contaminated. Test trips say no, but waiting on lab report. Does anyone know of a way to clean out the DEF system? everything I have heard is to replace everything and that is big bucks.

I would say if you have no fault codes coming up you could simply flush the tank with water then refill. There are also filters that you may want to change.
