Discussion:
Crown to release their LP line of trucks?

Does anyone know when Crown plans on the release of their LP line of trucks in the states? How will this effect the Komatsu relationships so many Crown dealers have established?

I would like to see Crown with an IC truck to make the Crown dealers free up some dealerships. You know Crown will not stand for dual dealerships anymore once they introduce an IC truck. What about the Crown/Toyota dual dealers? I can't wait for that.

Why on earth would Crown want to enter the LPG market. The class 4 share is slipping to that of Electric counter balance, the future is that of fuel cells, and the pricing continues to erode due to inexpensive imports from China and Korea. I guess I know that question, dealers... plus they want to compete with Toyota in a total class market. I look forward to seeing it perhaps at Promat 2009?

I have seen the prototype, and it has nothing to do with Doosan, Komatsu ect. Its all Crown, and will be here soon. They are running a John Deere power plant. The engine was converted over from a deisel format to run on LP, and gas. Very basic truck. Would not be surprized to see this unit in production sometime next year. Crown will revolutionize it US, and global presents over the next few years.

Hi CowboysFan,
Are you saying that Doosan (ex-Daewoo) IC trucks are marketed by Crown in US? If so, in what brand, Doosan or Crown?
I know in Australasia, Crown is marketing Doosan (ex-Daewoo) IC trucks with Crown brand name and in Crown paint.

It's already here, its called a Daewoo. I would be suprized to see them market a gas lift here in the US, with all the gas bashing that is going on these days.
