Crown mast mount pin replacement

Was there a problem with these breaking or welds cracking? I see there is a pin kit to replace them. Anyone ever done this?I'm going to have to do one next week. Any tips would be appreciated. Does the old pin come out without dynamite? :-)

It's a 30SCTT. I'm talking about the big (about 2-3" dia.) pin that is welded into the frame that the whole mast bolts to, where the trunion cap is. The mast and drive unit must be removed to get at it. There is a service bulletin that explains how to do this repair. Luckily it's on hold for a few weeks because they had a major repair to their delivery truck they are dealing with.

What Crown model are you working on, and what pin ( tilt cyl. )? We have most all Crown manuals and I would love it if I could help you out as you have helped me out in the past.
