T B Pickens (Texas oil man) is sponsoring T V commercials here in the US stating the abundance of NG here is tremendous. Maybe new technologies could make the hardware side less expensive?

I dealt with a company in the UK once that had CNG in their plant and they installed a refueling station. They worked out that they would need a fleet of 30 trucks running on CNG to justify the cost of installing the station. I can't remember if they were running on one or two shifts though. There's a company called gaspoweruk that do the conversions. They maybe able to give you some figures?
this information by Forkliftt is dead on, and bottom lines it to cost of equipment, special tank leading the way. There are other drawbacks/advantages (dependent on glass half empty/full viewpoint).
I spoke with Matt Nolff recently about this. It makes great sense to me. PNG had looked into this a few years back and concluded that the cost to manufacture such a high pressure tank outweighed any cost savings realized with CNG. That is a shame.
