Discussion:
Code 218 randomly???

Hi! I have a crown wave 60 that maybe 1 times out of 3 shows code 218 « call service » with the wrench key icon and the wave won't start up. I have to mess a few times with the hands control, foot control and even restarting it 1-2 times and the code 218 disappears and the wave just start good normally. What could be the issue?

I don't know if it may have something to do with this but some people probably just went too hard a few times with the right door some times ago so now the right door is VERY loose like if you drive with the doors closed and you break sometime the door just open up by itself, like the resistance in the door mechanism is broken if you know what I mean...

Thanks!

I would recommend replacing the traction command. Part number: 151797-001

Code 218 is a traction command voltage issue. Use the analyzer menu A4.24 to view voltage. With no command it needs to be reading 0.2v and with full throttle in needs to be 4.5v.
Easiest fix is to calibrate C2 and see if that fixes the issue. Typically that only fixes the issue if the voltages above are correct.
If they are greater than 4.8v then you'll have to start testing modules and commands as there are many possibilities as to what is wrong.
Hopefully this helps!

Fact of the week
Bluetooth is named after the 10th-century Viking king, Harald Bluetooth, who united warring tribes in Denmark and Norway. In 1997, Jim Kardach from Intel gave the name to the technology because of its ability to unite different communication protocols, just as Harald united various tribes.
