"The Pedal Dance"
Turn the ignition switch on with accel. pedal released, after 3 seconds fully depress the accel pedal 5 times within 5 seconds(end in released position). After 7 seconds(timing is very important...1 mississippi 2 mississippi etc....) press and hold down accel pedal for approximately 10 seconds(again timing) until the hour meter starts blinking, release pedal and push down and hold again for 10 seconds) hour meter should be on with no codes showing, shut key off and test to see if codes cleared.
yea with the pedal dance,do a search in here and it should come up,this truck might also have an OBD2 style plug like in a car, under the cup holder can plug a reader into it and clear codes and read codes thru it
Sweet. Anyway to clear codes without a handset?
This engine will run on 1 cylinder. If it will not a good tune up is in order. When pulling coil wire a code will show up that will require clearing however. A random misfire can be found if you let each cylinder run for a few moments.
Check connecions. The engine maybe stumble abit if coil or plug you can unplug each coil to see if change in engine rpm sometimes very sutle change. Pull plugs and inspect
Most the time if crank sensor is bad you will have no start or hard start.
Thanks guys,
Any way to narrow this down?
90% of the time when you have an e27 code its related to ignition components, plugs, coils, connection, wiring etc.
Not always does the crank sensor cause E27 , it could he a bad connection or even a bad plug can cause this code.
Cam sensor is close to the crank sensor but connectors are diffrent ,looking head on at fan, crank sensor is on the bottom right cam sensor is on the left, can see the cam sensor from the top looking down but hard to see the crank sensor
not to bad to change one, hard to get to it as its close to the fan pulley and water pump, is one 10mm bolt that holds it in just unplug it take out bolt and pull out of block and install new one.
Crankshaft position sensor, have one to change on a nissan this week myself.
