Brake Troubles

I take a day off and..... Well anyway. (sigh) Tech has a brake problem on our Crown RC-5545-40 and in my absence installs a whole new brake assembly on the LH side. Machine won't work properly so he calls in CROWN tech and he loads up some new software, and away she goes. EXCEPT they ( Both the tech guy and CROWN dealer tech) tell me they could not tighten the 3 brake mounting bolts to their liking?? They had to leave them "loose" so that the brake disc had proper clearance and did not overheat??
LH Brake Part # 136830.
Is there a special torque rating for these bolts? I am not comfortable with " loose " bolts on a brake assembly.
Anybody work on these things?
Crown tech guy still hasn't got back to us with anything from CROWN.

Hmmmm.... I will definitely check that out. Something just doesn't make sense, like you said this should be plug and play.

Make sure he didn't install the wrong one on there. One side is bigger than the other, not by much...but enough to lock the smaller brake on the side that takes the bigger one.

That's my thoughts exactly - Ifixit. There must be an issue with the top of the motor, or maybe they didn't clean the splines on the brake hub well enough and the dirt in the splines is not allowing the disc to float freely. It doesn't take much drag to generate a lot of heat in a hurry. I will investigate further.

Those brakes are pre-set when new. Something happened when he installed it because it's a plug-and-play part. It's basically only a parking brake, slowing and stopping the truck is done through reverse voltage to the drive motors

7 ft. lbs. isn't much....but they had to leave the bolts at 0 ft.lbs. Anything more and the brake would immediately drag and start to overheat badly.
I'm wondering if the top of the motor isn't truly "flat" ??
