Discussion:
Atlas of forklift models and serial numbers

Hello everyone, need some help finding an Atlas or Guide where it contains models and/or serial numbers of forklifts. For example, forklifts with no information plate are at times hard to identify them. If anybody knows where can I purchase this atlas let me know.
Thanks to all.

Hi there
Do you know if something like this can be available for battery ?
Depending of manufacturer it's easy or ver hard to know how old was a battery.
Tx all...

Hi Jonh,
what's the name of the other serial guide? is it CRS or you're not sure? It's always better to have additional guides to prevent errors in manufacture years of the forklifts.

Thanks,

Atlas is probably the best quide available for primarily US recoginized brands - some European models. It is not perfect. It uses serial numbers primarily to determine year of manufactuer. Some times a company liek Nissan uses a manufacturing model number and a marketing name for commercial (literature, price lsit, advertising, etc. purposes.

There is another guide out there (the name ??? (CRS set in) that I have used and it provided some additional and maybe more accurate information than the Atlas guide.

Used both when I was evalauting and selling used forklifts for a company that started up & then disappeared faster than a rag doll but made a nice $ while it lasted. Ain't forlfits fun! One reason "I don't do them any more."

You can purchase the recognised guide called "Forklift Serial Number Data" from The Atlas group of Companies in Chicago.....see their Shopfront on this website.....just do a search for the word "Atlas" in the orange bar near the top of the page.
