Discussion:
Alternator not getting ignition 12 volts on red wire

I found a wiring diagram for this one but I guess they dont think they need a diagram for that. No power to red ign wire on the 3 pin plug. I checked the fuses and all seems to be good. I need to find out where the 12 volts comes from and I have yet to find a diagram of that circuit. Can anyone help?

Nice work! 7 series was a common issue with the wire loom causing harness damage. Vibration. The 8 series have been good, sometimes the harness is stretched to tight from factory and the harness again from vibration creates this issue!

I found the problem. I pulled the harness open about 2 feet from alternator connector and pulled on the wire that goes to the Ign terminal and when I did it pulled in two. I rubbed somehow inside the split loom.

It come directly from ign fuse. Also batt fuse, or gauge fuse. Does this have a wired seat belt? Possibly bad neutral saftey issue. So no dash , power anywhere? Check harness also by oil fill cap. Rubbing, damage etc. also does it have thee positive fuse assembly on the battery? Check the connectors below it and make sure they are good.
