My customer has an Allis Chalmer S165 side loader. This machine was manufactured for Allis Chalmer by Lancer Boss. What ever happened to Lancer Boss?
I've read they were manufactured in England, bought out by Jungheinrich in 1994 and the plant was shut down in 2003. Is this correct?
The truck needs repairs and I can't seem to find parts (brakes). With all the experience and knowledge on forkliftaction, I'm hoping someone can shed some light for me. Thank you in advance for your time.

Those bladdy Germans shut it down.
Fallsway may be able to help with Lancer parts but for sure the Original Baumann Sideloader, produced since 1969 in the same factory, is not produced by Bulmor of distributed by Fallsway. For further details please have a look to http://www.cavaionbaumannusa.com/ or www.baumann-online.it.
you may want to try Fallsway Equipment parts at 800.458.7941. They are the Baumann Bulmor US importer in Ohio. Baumann is part of Bulmor Lancer. They may be able to help.
I have contacted everyone and nobody can get those parts. Thanks again for all the feedback.
Thanks again everyone. I have contacted Jungheinrich UK, they said they no longer export in the UK. All inquiries from the USA need to be done through Langer, they only export to Langer. But they took my information and will see if they can locate the parts and they will let Langer know.
I contacted some of the others listed above as well and I'm just waiting for responses.
I have worked at Lancer BOSS. Lancer BOSS was taken over by Jungheinrich in 1994 and the business for side loaders has been closed I think 1999. Spare parts should be available via Jungheinrich, best is Jungheinrich UK. Depends an little bit what make and modell it is. If it is not too old, there should be a good chance via JUNGHENRICH UK.
sales at bossforkliftparts dot com or sales at handlingtruck dot com
You could try Handling Truck Services in the UK. E-mail [email address removed] or [email address removed] Good Luck.
tcmgirl,
1. That unit is close to 30 years old - AC severed ties w/Lancer Boss in the early 1980's.
2. When I was w/AC parts for Lancer Boss equipment were hard to get, very often they would make changes & not let anyone know. We had one customer that bought 3 units same model within 18 months and they had 3 different transmissions.
3. When any company goes out of business - several things can happen to the inventory a. the new owners take it over; b. sold to anyone interested a piece or lot at a time or c. auctioned off to the highest bidder.
If your rating plate has a work's number try handling truck services near Luton UK.there was another company in Manchester area but cannot mind what they was called a
geo lift in uk are the best for parts for boss side loaders +441489783850
You can try Jungheinrich UK Ltd +441908363100, as they do still have stock of old boss equipment or may well be able to point you in the right direction GL
Thank you for the responses. I have contacted Langer, spoke to Rick and he said the parts are no longer supplied.
TVH has nothing. Also called Allis Chalmer/Komatsu dealer, Linde dealer and they can't help. Contacted Atlanta Lift Truck Salvage, Anderson Forklift Supply, All Industrial Engine, Kenworth dealer and nobody can help. I think everyone in the US calls Langer. (they are well known)
This truck has air brakes and I need a compressor as well......it looks like a one cylinder engine.
I just now called Bulmor, they will check into it, but they don't think they can get the parts.
Thank you for all the help and any more ideas are greatly appreciated. I think I have exhausted all my resources. It's ashame to tell a customer that their truck can no longer be fixed. Especially since this is not a 3000lbs cushion that can be replaced for $19,000. I find it hard to believe that a manufacture plant made parts specifically for one model forklift. I think the parts had to be used on other equipment, I just don't know how to find out which ones.
Which brings me to another question, when a manufacture plant shuts down, where does all the inventory go?
you can also try the local Linde dealer in your area. Lancer Boss also worked with the old Lansing group.
