This is true I heard this from my SMH rep. before the news broke and my sales contact at Advanced Forklift.
In regards I would be surprised if SMH bought Helmar, and to quote SMH upper management "why would they buy their biggest customer"

we started here in the US market 2 months ago and I like this move.
think of all the overhead they have now.
were specializing in Japanese OEM hydraulic pumps and there is no way they can touch our prices with all that overhead.
They're really trying to kill the "one stop" distributors but its going to back fire and smaller one item specialty companies(working off the profitable items) will make them rethink their approach with the limited overhead and low prices!

Right you are. There are no major players left except Helmar and Rapidparts. I know of some little start-up companies but they don't really count nor matter.
Very good come back. We all know Rapid parts is going nowhere. Mitshubishi will not give that up. That leaves Helmar!
