Crown WAV50-84:
Abnormal Charge

Hi everyone,

I have a wave that is getting an abnormal charge and will not power on. When it does turn on, it will suddenly lose power and not turn back on again. If I leave my hand on the handle when turning it on, I get fault code 19, but otherwise I get no response from the wave. Does anyone know what's going on? (Besides f19 that is, I realize that happens when a hand is left on the handle when starting up) Thanks!

Alright so all the batteries are ok, I believe I made a simple mistake when I got the 19v reading because I'm getting 25.9v every time now.

So other than a battery or cable issue, what else would cause my wave to not power up. It will start to turn on and show the BPI screen light up, but then it shuts off immediately unless I have my hand on the handle in which case it'll stay on to show me fault 19

You need to check from battery negative to each battery. Start with the first batter in the series, you should see a 6.3 volt increase at each battery. The one with the problem will be the one that does not increase 6.3 volts. Check the voltage drop at the jump cable between the problem battery and the next one in series. There should be near 0 volt drop in any single cable.

Is there any fix I can do for that, or do I need to invest in getting new cables? Or could there also be another problem along with/besides bad cables?

It sounds like you have a cabling problem.

Yes, and each battery gives 6.3v. However when I tested across all four I got 19.6v instead of the roughly 24v I was expecting
