Discussion:
#3 cylinder missfire

Our GLC 070vx starts and runs fine until it gets hot. When hot #3 cylinder cuts out. Has new coil, plug wires, and spark plugs. I do not think it is an injector as I have introduced carb and choke cleaner to just that cylinder and the miss does not go away. Am I looking at a lifter bleeding off? Any ideas?

I am starting to think along the lines of valve issues. I would think if the intake valve was sticking open you would get a backfire? I am going to pull the head as I have a new one on the shelf and I will replace the lifters. I am not getting any lifter noise but anything is possible.

It does not have a cap and rotor.

No new cap and rotor? Stupid question, is the cap aftermarket? Had problems with that in the past. Just finished a repair #5 lifter fail, but my engine also had top end noise.
