US Coal Imports Conference 2002

The organisers note that this year in Philadelphia US Coal Imports 2002 will review the key issues: - Can the US sustain existing production levels with a mounting number of bankrupcies and increasing burdens being placed on the producers? - US Coal Imports 2002 will detail all existing plans for import expansion amongst rumours of major investments in importing facilities to cut US importing costs. - The conference will examine the charms and drawbacks of the portfolio of coals being offered by world exporters. Individual coals provide the buyer with a choice. Not just in sulphur and ash components, but in NOx performance, ash precipitation characteristics and trace elements. - The e-markets after Enron - the salient lessons of Enron's collapse. - US Coal Imports 2002 will take the pulse of the US power sector, examine the movement of gas and power prices and highlight coal's place in the sun for the next five years.

In March 2002, identical twins in Finland died on the same day in similar accidents within hours of each other. A 70-year-old man was killed by a truck while cycling; hours later, his twin brother was killed by a truck on the same road, about a mile away, before the family had been informed of the first accident.
