Hydrogen + Fuel Cells 2009 conference

Canada, Vancouver - Monday, June 1 – Wednesday, June 3, 2009
Conference highlights include opening keynotes by senior officials from the Province of British Columbia, and the arrival of a convoy of hydrogen-powered electric vehicles on a cross-border road rally originating from San Diego, California.

Photo and video opportunities include a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle test drive event, and demonstrations of the latest market applications of fuel cell technologies. HFC 2009 will feature international experts profiling the latest developments in research, business and government policy. Session highlights include:
June 1: An introduction to the state of the hydrogen fuel cell sector, with remarks by John Tak, Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association; Stephen Crolius, Clinton Climate Change Initiative; Anthony Freeman and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory
June 1: A panel discussion on automotive commercialization, with Lawrence D. Burns, General Motors; Tayou Kawai, Toyota Motor Corporation; Dr. Akihiro Iliyama, Nissan Motors Co. Ltd; and Dr. Andreas Truckenbrodt, Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation Corporation.
June 2: Perspectives on other commercialization, with Dominique Bernal, Air Liquide; Dr. Fumeo Ueno, Toshiba; John Sheridan, Ballard Power; and Michael McGowan, Linde Gas.
June 2: "The View from Europe," with André Martin, European Industry Grouping for a Fuel Cells & Hydrogen Joint Technology Initiative; Aksel Mortensgaard, Danish Energy Authority; and a representative from the Fuel Cell & Hydrogen Network.
June 3: "Deploying Hydrogen and Fuel Cells,", with Heinrich Klingenberg, hySolutions; Ken Stewart, UTC Power; Dr. Bill Kupferschmidt, Atomic Energy of Canada Limited; and Daryl Wilson, Hydrogenics.
