When choosing tires for forklifts, buyers must not only focus on where the machine is used but more importantly, how it's being used. Over and above environment, usage intensity is the most important variable.

Tire life should be a given and for this to be true, you need to be able to match the tire to the intensity level of the application you're running.

Application intensity reflects the amount of heat stress inflicted on the tires by the forklift's duty cycles.

Intensity can be calculated according to a variety of loading factors, operating hours, distance travelled per day and cycle times. Understanding the intensity of your application is key to maximizing tire life and ultimately, the payback on your tire investment.

NEW DIGITAL SOLUTION
The impact of application intensity on forklift tires cannot be understated. To assess the intensity of your forklift application and better understand your own tire requirements, Camso has developed its Usage Intensity Calculator, a web-based tool that quantifies different levels of forklift application intensities. Fact-based, built on thousands of hours of testing, it takes into account parameters like lift capacity, working environment as well as idle, travel and maneuvering time. In a few clicks, the systems outputs a forklifts' application intensity score. It also offers a recommended Solideal tire manufactured by Camso promising maximum tire life for the application analyzed.

The Usage Intensity Calculator allows dealers to have a conversation with their customers from a position of true expertise. Thanks to the online tool, they can calculate and propose tire solutions to their customers based on a technical evaluation of the particular forklift application and usage.
