A drunk man used a stolen forklift as a ride home after a night on the town, a court has heard.

Ronald Leiper, 20, admitted allowing himself to be carried on a stolen forklift on Aberdeen's Victoria Road in August, an Aberdeen Press & Journal report said.

The court heard the forklift was stolen at about 3am on August 16 and, while Mr Leiper did not know the person driving, he decided to hitch a ride.

He was fined GBP150 (USD235.76) and banned from driving for three months.
