Dutch developer of hands-free charging solutions for electric vehicles Rocsys, has partnered with Finnish software development, AI and machine-learning solutions provider Unikie, to “improve the charging process for autonomous vehicles and advance fully autonomous fleet depot operations”, the two companies have announced.
The partnership will focus on integrating Rocsys’ hands-free charging solution, including the ROC-1 robot and the Rocsys API, with Unikie’s autonomous vehicle Marshalling Solution.
The two have previously worked together, to explore how their technologies can be combined for bus operations. The same technology can also be used for automated marshalling of compatible electric vehicles, the two companies state.
“Unikie’s goal is to accelerate the market adoption for automation and bring the key technology providers together”, says Joachim Hauser, Unikie Marshalling Solutions’ head of sales and strategy. “We want to ensure that our customers have early access to the latest technology and solutions that will help them to disrupt and revolutionise their industries.”
Rocsys was founded in 2019 and in June 2023 announced it had secured EUR33 million (USD37 million) in capital venture funding to further develop its electric transport autonomous charging solutions in the US and Europe.
