Fitted with telescopic forks, two new stackers from Cat® Lift Trucks promise to boost your warehouse storage density and productivity.

The 1.2 tonne Cat® NSR12N2TF stand-in and NSS12N2TF sit-on models extend the advantages of this manufacturer’s advanced stacker ranges. And while they are primarily aimed at users with double-deep racking set-ups, they can do much more.

Fill your warehouse

Let’s start with their main purpose. By moving to a double-deep approach, you can immediately increase your warehouse capacity by up to 30%. That’s because you will need only half as many aisles. From each aisle, telescopic forks will reach into the racking to stack and retrieve loads at two pallet depths.

This is a very cost-effective way of making fuller use of your building. With an extensive choice of triplex masts, you can also maximise utilisation of your vertical space. There are standard maximum heights from 4.8 to 6.3 metres, plus custom heights above, below and between, to match your application perfectly. What’s more, enhanced load deration performance allows you to store heavier loads at each level.

Thanks to the trucks’ wide straddle design, they can lower their forks to the floor between widely spaced support legs. This helps in handling closed-base pallets and other load carriers without open fork spaces or pockets. Goods can be stacked right down to the ground, and with low-profile straddle legs there is minimal wasted space under the bottom racking beam.

Straddle specifications depend partly on pallet sizes and racking arrangements. How many pallets do you want to fit within the width of each racking bay, and how tightly? The width between the support legs is 950 or 750 millimetres as standard, or can be customised, for optimum adaptation to your racking layout and operation.

Do everything faster

From each aisle, telescopic forks will reach into the racking to stack and retrieve loads at two pallet depths.

The stackers’ super-fast telescopic fork attachment is precisely speed-regulated for accurate control. This applies both to small adjustments at creep speeds and to rapid extension or retraction of the forks. In each case it ensures confident, safe operation and a satisfying user experience.

Drive-in and ground clearance, as well as gradient performance, have been enhanced by the structure of the support legs. In addition to their low profile, they have a slight downward angle toward their end point. Each has a single wheel or – optionally – a pair of tandem wheels for smooth motion.

Fork tips are slightly pointed and tapered to prevent sticking. Their shape enables easier and faster pallet entry and exit, even when the truck is simultaneously turning.

Lifting and lowering are smoothly controlled by a stepless, speed-regulated hydraulic motor. This powerful but quiet unit provides quick but safe and accurate fork positioning.

Small time gains in each of these areas, and others, soon add up to substantial savings in highly repetitive processes.

Use your imagination!

In addition to double-deep storage, these telescopic fork stackers have many other potential uses. They can act as reach trucks, four-point straddle stackers, pallet trucks, order pickers, and more.

Handling long loads is one obvious possibility. Another is stretching into goods vehicles, or across lorry cargo areas, to pick up hard-to-reach loads. Or, conversely, loading goods into near and far positions from the side of a vehicle. Further scope for handling different tasks comes from the wide range of optional features. It creates feature-rich and hence highly agile and adaptable solutions.

Win in every way with Cat stackers

Along with their own specialisations, the new models enjoy all the productivity and efficiency benefits of leading-edge Cat stacker engineering. More compact and manoeuvrable than platform stackers or reach trucks, the stand-in and sit-on concepts allow narrowing of your aisles. Meanwhile, their latest hydraulic, drive, steering and stability systems make every action faster and smoother. The result is a more densely stocked warehouse and consistently higher work rates throughout every shift.
