In its second year, Queensland Materials Handling will showcase a collection of the industry's biggest names when it runs from June 19 to 21 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Yale Forklifts, Hyster North, Ace Forklifts and Qld Lifting and Recycling Equipment are among the new exhibitors from the forklift industry to join a line-up that already included Toyota Materials Handling, JLG Prolift, EV Alert and Shockwatch. And, just in time for the July implementation of Queensland's new forklift licensing provisions, Easy Guides Australia will offer its unique picture-based training learning guides and PowerPoint training materials.
Not limited to forklifts, Queensland Materials Handling will also feature lift, move and shift devices from cranes, racking and palletizing fields right through to rubbish chutes and the iconic Caterpillar range.
Queensland Materials Handling is held concurrently with the Queensland Safety Show and Queensland Safety Conference. The two trade shows will boast a combined 7,500 square metres, or almost two acres, of specialist safety products and services presented by over 200 exhibitors - making the overall event 30 per cent larger than last year.
Queensland Materials Handling's organiser, Marie Kinsella of Australian Exhibitions & Conferences, said the growth of the trade show reflected the success of last year's inaugural event.
"Queensland's business community turned out in force for the very first show and that, in turn, has encouraged materials and manual handling specialists to be part of the show. Even if you came last year, you'd better come again because there's still more to see this time - almost half the exhibitors are new," she said.
Industry partners, including WorkCover Queensland, the Master Plumbers' Association of Queensland and Commerce Queensland will offer free workshops for trade show visitors, with WorkCover Queensland explaining how employers can meet their obligations and the Master Plumbers' Association providing a vital update on workplace health and safety legislation affecting the construction industry.
The Queensland Safety Conference and the two trade shows are sponsored by the Department of Employment and Industrial Relations, Workplace Health & Safety Queensland (WHSQ) and presented by the Queensland and Northern Territory division of the Safety Institute of Australia.
The Queensland Safety Show, Queensland Materials Handling and the Queensland Safety Conference will run from Tuesday 19 to Thursday 21 June 2007 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
