Electrovaya's ELivate solution |
Electrovaya has secured new purchase orders worth approximately USD4 million for forklift battery systems, to be delivered by the end of the company's third fiscal quarter ending 30 June 2020. These purchase orders increase Electrovaya's order backlog to approximately USD13 million.
Electrovaya expects to complete deliveries on approximately USD10.8 million of orders by 30 June 2020, barring unforeseen circumstances.
The new orders are from "an existing customer currently operating Electrovaya batteries" and were received through the company's original equipment manufacturer (OEM) distribution channel.
"These repeat purchase orders underscore customer satisfaction with our forklift battery products," says Raj Das Gupta, vice president, business development at Electrovaya. "We are also pleased to see continued growth and momentum in our OEM sales channel."
Electrovaya claims its ELivate lithium-ion forklift battery line provides industry-leading cycle life, safety, energy and power.
As indicated in our (statlink|1|2020 preview report}, growing environmental regulations are prompting a dramatic move towards electric equipment, and lithium-ion technology is developing fast and making its way into materials handling inventories around the world.
Forkliftaction News will publish an in-depth feature on battery technologies in the first quarter of 2020.
