Eternity Technologies acquires Indian battery siteDubai-headquartered industrial battery maker Eternity Technologies has acquired the production facility of EnerSys India Batteries Private Limited in Vijayawada as it looks to strengthen its presence in the Indian market.
Eternity describes the acquisition as a “strategic investment…[in] India’s rapidly expanding economy and the increasing demand for sustainable energy solutions in logistics, power, and energy storage sectors”.
The company says the acquisition also aligns with its vision of driving innovation and sustainability across the global battery industry.
“India’s logistics industry is experiencing unprecedented growth, driven by the expansion of e-commerce, infrastructure development, and global trade,” Eternity Technologies states. “As companies transition towards electrification—particularly in forklift trucks and material handling equipment—there is a rising need for high-performance, environmentally-friendly battery solutions.”
The company will invest in the facility to upgrade it to what it describes as a state-of-the-art production hub which will support Indian demand for “stationary batteries for power stations and energy storage applications”.
Eternity Technologies CEO Mark Stevenson says this investment is a “key step” in the company’s expansion strategy.
“We are committed to providing cutting-edge battery solutions that support the country’s rapid shift towards electrification and sustainable energy,” Stevenson adds. “Our investment in the Vijayawada facility will enhance local production capabilities, ensuring we meet the evolving needs of both the logistics and energy sectors with high-quality, safe, and fully recyclable products.”
