Revenue generated from mobile robots - the majority of which are found in warehousing and logistics - is expected to jump from USD18 billion in 2023 to USD124 billion by 2030 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 23.6%.

These are the findings of technology intelligence company ABI Research’s mobile robotics market data report, which has also forecast the same period will see mobile robot shipments increase from 547,000 to a staggering 2.79 million, at a CAGR of 24.1%.

With robots increasingly part of the automation process of warehouses and logistics companies, ABI says they are becoming increasingly valuable in manufacturing and other industries as they continue to evolve and develop for new applications.

“Mobile robots are a very valuable category of robot which have completely transformed warehousing and logistics in recent years,” George Chowdhury, robotics industry analyst at ABI Research explains. “For material handling alone, mobile robots offer enterprises transformative efficiency improvements.”

Chowdhury adds mobile robots will remain the most popular form of robot into the near-future.

“As trust in autonomous mobile robot (AMR) technologies grows, we will increasingly see mobile robots in public spaces,” he continues.
