Haulotte adds safety features to telematics
Lorette, France
French telehandler and aerial work platform manufacturer Haulotte has added two new safety features to its Sherpal remote monitoring system.
The new features give fleet managers information about the weather forecast for each machine, as well as electric line detection information.
The system can detect electric lines within a radius of 10, 50 and 100 meters around each machine.
Bobcat factory turns 60
Pontchâteau, France
The factory has manufactured many different types of equipment
Bobcat’s factory in France is celebrating its 60th birthday and the milestone of manufacturing its 111,000th machine.
Originally a school bench factory, the Pontchâteau site has manufactured farm machinery, bicycles and cider presses.
The present-day plant, built in 1963, originally manufactured off-road dumpers and forklifts. In the early 1980s, it began producing telehandlers and by this year around 30,000 telehandlers have rolled off its production lines.
Doosan Bobcat EMEA Pontchâteau factory manager Philippe Marescot says: “Our current telehandler lineup consists of 14 models in five platforms, with key markets in agriculture, construction and rental.
“Managing such a comprehensive portfolio is only possible thanks to our experienced engineering team, which is running all the European operations and contributing to global telehandler development activities.”
About 80% of the equipment manufactured at the plan is exported.
