When the USA imposed import tariffs on Chinese forklifts, the immediate result was an increase in prices. And it was not just the imported machines which went up in price - domestic manufacturers soon followed suit with price adjustments.
Sure, the increases weren't only related to competitors' pricing strategies - local US manufacturers had to cope with more expensive steel and components.
It will be interesting in the months ahead to see if - and how quickly - prices come down as importers gain exemption from the tariffs. And will the US manufacturers match the price drops? Time will tell.
