The countdown is on for National Forklift Safety Day which will be marked in the United States on June 11, 2019. That event has come a long way since it was started in 2014, and each year, the level of awareness about forklift safety increases.
Meanwhile, in the UK, the Fork Lift Truck Association has released plans for this year's National Forklift Safety Month in October. The theme of the month will be: "Forklift Safety. It's no accident".
Many people see safety as a global issue and there has been some talk about consolidating the various safety campaigns into a single, concerted push.
Of course, as each event builds its own momentum, it becomes harder to change them - and, in a sense, these separate safety observances work together to keep the issue in the public eye more frequently. Safety day, safety month or safety week - we applaud all efforts and hope they achieve their goals and save more lives.
