The Talent in Logistics Awards 2020 will now take place as a virtual live event on 1 October 2020.

The Awards ceremony will be streamed live on YouTube and social media channels, instead of being held in Manchester as originally planned.

"The past few months have presented unusual circumstances, but there is no way that we wanted to cancel or postpone this year's Awards, especially when we have had such a high standard of entries so far," says Ruth Edwards, business development director for Talent in Logistics.

To enable as many people as possible to get involved and celebrate the sector's achievements this year, the entry deadline for the Talent in Logistics Awards has been extended until 24 July.

Meanwhile, organisers of the UK 2020 Logistics Awards have also extended the deadline for entries.

Submissions will now be accepted until 29 May. "In light of the challenges currently faced by logistics and supply chain businesses, we are providing extensions on a case-by-case basis," says a spokesperson.

In addition to providing more time for entries, organisers have also announced a new category - the COVID-19 Response Category - to reflect the outstanding work being done by the logistics industry in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"If your organisation has stepped up and gone the extra mile to serve your community, it's time to gain recognition for your hard work," a statement urges.

The Logistics Awards will be announced on 16 September at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.
