KION participates in Manufacturing Day
Summerville, SC, United States

KION North America hosted more than 35 juniors and seniors from South Carolina High Schools in Berkeley, Charleston and Fairfield Counties on October 4, Manufacturing Day.
"Manufacturing Day is a great opportunity for KION North America to open its doors for students, teachers and community leaders to learn more about our business and what we are doing here in Summerville, South Carolina. It is very encouraging for us to work with future workforce generations and hopefully attract them with a career in a technical field," says Daniel Schlegel, vice president of operations, KION North America.
After an introduction to the company, its product line and its initiatives, teachers and students toured the Summerville, South Carolina facility and saw first-hand what it’s like to work in manufacturing. Students left with knowledge of the industry and many were intrigued by the opportunities available to them within the manufacturing field.

Linde picks up it inter airport Europe 2019 award
Linde safety recognised
Aschaffenburg, Germany

Linde Material Handling has won the inter airport Europe 2019 Excellence Award in the interRAMP category for its innovative Linde Safety Guard assistance system which helps to protect both pedestrians and forklift drivers.
The Linde Safety Guard assistance system works by using ultra-wideband (UWB) technology. The mobile, forklift-mounted units transmit radio signals with centimetre precision, even through walls and doors, and warn drivers and pedestrians of potential collisions via acoustic, visual and tactile signals. In this way, they prevent accidents and increase operational safety.
"We are delighted to receive the award and are confident that the system will enhance the working environment of logistics employees, helping to keep them safe and healthy, while also increasing productivity in ground handling," says Product Manager Fabian Zimmermann, who accepted the award on behalf of Linde Material Handling.
