Aerial platform specialist Dinolift and its Finnish dealer, Rotator Oy, are marking 40 years of successful partnership.

In the late '70s, the market for drainage machines was declining and Dinolift, then known as Kurpan Konepaja, was starting the production of aerial work platforms called DINO. At the same time, Rotator was looking for new business opportunities and recognised the market around working at height.

The shared vision brought the two companies together.

"Safe and reliable machines together with the professional after-sales services play an important role for both companies and have provided the basis for the successful long-term partnership," says a joint statement. Another key factor is the desire to further develop the products based on customer feedback as well as the shared interest in innovations.

The focus on innovation has seen Dinolift sponsor research at the University of Turku, contributing to the creation of a new professorship of battery technology.

"Our strategic goal is to be the world's best manufacturer of lightweight MEWPs and we will need lots of expertise and new knowledge in developing further our product family," says Veli-Matti Savo, commercial director of Dinolift.

The funding has been welcomed by Prof Mika Hannula, director of Turku Science Park: "Dinolift's donation is a great evidence of the strong willingness of the companies in Turku business region to further strengthen the research and education of engineering."
