Banks DIH will distribute UniCarriers

The UniCarriers forklift brand has entered the Guyana market through a partnership with beverage giant Banks DIH Limited.

Banks DIH has been appointed a distributor, and UniCarriers forklifts will be supplied through the company's automotive dealership.

Banks DIH chairman Clifford Reis this week launched a local dealership opposite its Thirst Park headquarters at Ruimveldt.

"This undertaking represents the beginning of a process of diversifying our company's business model which (is) a part of our plans for the future to respond to the challenges the 21st century's business environment will present us," he said.

The diverse Banks group produces beverages, including Banks Beer, rum, bottled water and soft drinks.

It also produces a range of snack foods under the Trisco Foods brand and runs various restaurants. Other interests include liquor retailing and dry cleaning.
