Eziloader's Ron Mileham and Perry Carter |
Eziloader Ground Level Loading Trailers took out the Invention of the Year title at the recent WorkSafe Awards 2017 at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne.
Ron Mileham and partner Perry Carter received the trophy and certificate from Clare Amies, chief executive of WorkSafe Victoria.
The product was the result of five years of development and the award recognises the manual handling problems associated with lifting onto trailers and the risks of loading using ramps, as they can shift, creating hazards for the operator and plant.
Eziloader is designed for roll on-roll off applications, with inbuilt safety features. The design centres around an adjustable deck that lowers to allow the loading of goods up to 1 T. The ramp provides easy access, using just a hand pallet truck or trolley.
Director Ron Mileham tells
Forkliftaction News work is now under way on an Eziloader Trailer: "Specially fabricated, waterproof, tough mini-containers, 1,400 mm wide x 1,200 mm deep x 2,600 mm high, that can be dropped off outside your home or business, that you put anything in from household goods to industrial equipment ... that can all be simply removed from the Eziloader at ground level and wheeled in using a hand pallet truck or one of our powered units."
"I think this has massive potential," he explains. "It is especially useful if you need to deliver to a place that has no lifting device, or even shopping malls that need displays set up or, say, a new oven delivered ... all achievable by one person and an Eziloader Ground Level Loading Trailer."
