Danish materials handling equipment maker Logitrans A/S will celebrate its 75th anniversary on May 1 with an exhibition of its products at its Ribe factory.

Logitrans spokeswoman Dorte Strøyberg tells Forkliftaction.com News that the exhibition is permanent and can be viewed by dealers, customers and partners who visit the factory.

"We show products being developed and manufactured by Logitrans (and Nisap Maskinfabrik) from 1940, from agricultural machines to materials handling equipment. And we tell the story about the development of our company - from the beginning during the war in 1940 until today, where we can celebrate our 75 years´ anniversary and the third generation takes over."

Strøyberg says two examples of the products exhibited are "the barrow, the first and very important tool to carry through material handling" and the "dry-method beet washer" that makes it possible to cut and clean beets in a single operation.

Logitrans was founded by Ingrid and Nis Andersen Pedersen in a little smithy in 1940. The company was known as Nisap Maskinfabrik until 2002.

Nis was solution-oriented and had a special interest in hydraulics and mechanics. He worked with all requests from the fishing industry and agriculture. In 1970, he started using his interest in hydraulic solutions to develop and manufacture materials handling equipment like pallet trucks, high lifters and stackers.

Erling Pedersen, the son of Nis and Ingrid, was involved in the company at a young age. He became the CEO in 1975. His daughter, Gitte Kirkegaard, who is currently sales director, will take over as CEO from May 1.

The company produces equipment in Denmark and China. More than 90% of the production is exported to over 55 countries. It employs 118 people in Denmark, China, US, Sweden, France and Germany.
