The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) will feature five presentations about aerial work platforms (AWPs) at a 22 January regional conference in the Chicago area.
The event is IPAF's first-ever regional gathering in Illinois and takes place under the auspices of the IPAF North American regional council.
Two speakers will represent NES Rentals Holdings Inc of Chicago. Gary Riley, NES safety education representative and an IPAF senior instructor, will discuss "Fall Protection as It Relates to AWPs: Why?", while Sue Rudnick, NES director of human resources development, will focus on "The Breakfast of Safety Champions: Practice and Coaching".
Tony Groat, IPAF North America manager in Schenectady, New York, will provide an industry standards update.
Addressing "Selecting the Right Equipment for the Job" will be Ian McGregor, product safety manager with the Skyjack division of Guelph, Ontario, Canada-based Linamar Corp.
Jeanne M Miller, an attorney in McHenry, Illinois, will discuss "Lowering Your Workers Comp Liability through Electro-diagnostic Functional Assessments".
The event will take place in Des Plaines at the Hilton Garden Inn Chicago O'Hare Airport.
IPAF is planning another regional US conference on 12 March in Houston, Texas.
The non-profit Crooklands, England-based IPAF promotes safe and effective use of powered access equipment. Members include rental companies, manufacturers, distributors and equipment owners.
