Ever the ergonomic pioneers the
Bulmor Lancer brand has now introduced a very clever and practical access platform designed for all sideloaders with capacities of 10 tons or more. The main reason behind this innovation is that the trucks are by virtue of their function relatively high off the ground and the entry to the cabin is greatly improved in every respect by the platform including being safer, saving time and less strain imposed on the driver especially when the truck is in regular use.
On the 18 ton truck as a guide the platform is approximately 1.700 mm off the ground and the concept came about as a result of extensive Bulmor research in to customers' needs and observations.
The platform extends by pushing a button from outside the truck. It is operated electrically and can therefore be used without the truck running. Once the operator is inside he pushes a button inside the cabin and retracts it. There is a safety mechanism that the truck does not travel with the platform outside and it moves smoothly and quickly. When getting out the operator applies the hand brake, sends out the platform, gets out of the truck and moves the platform inward by again pushing a button. The platform makes is very comfortable to get in and out of the truck as it is possible to stand in front of the cabin as if it was on ground level instead of "swinging" in.
This again reflects the
Bulmor Lancer side loading design as being the key choice for long, horizontal and deemed as awkward loads - within for example the steel, piping, timber and window industries. All of the trucks cope with long, heavy and large material in confined spaces. They are happy inside, outside, on uneven ground and gradients and long distances. There are two main formats - the electric fourway sideloader and the IC version fourway sideloader. The "environment and energy friendly" Electric version solves all materials handling tasks.
The trucks are manufactured in Austria to the highest European standards and supported by the UK subsidiary offering direct purchases as well as a rental fleet backed by a parts service and in-house mechanics. All of which combines to minimise downtime and running costs and keep the trucks working. This is in tandem with other advanced
Bulmor features including multi-purpose lighting; large profile wheels for better absorption on uneven ground with better directional stability compared to other truck types: wide comfortable cabins with adjustable seats and tinted safety glass; armoured roofs plus protective grills; height adjustable steering incorporating operating functions and pre-controlled hydraulics with joystick operation.
