A new Junior Manager of the Year Award will be launched at the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA)'s 14th Annual Awards for Warehousing, which will be presented on 3 July at the Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane, London.

There are 10 award categories in total. UKWA CEO Roger Williams says while the logistics industry has a reputation for being dominated by middle-aged men, the association wants to recognise the success of young people in the sector, with the existing Young Employee of the Year and now, Junior Manager of the Year award.

The winner of last year's Young Employee of the Year Award, Joanne Dolan of Paul Ponsonby, says: "It was a real thrill to win a UKWA Award and it was especially nice to know that my employer had put me forward and that my efforts had been recognised."

The awards are free to enter. Entry forms can be downloaded from the UKWA's website. The deadline for entries is 23 April.

The UKWA Awards are an opportunity for networking with about 500 logistics industry professionals attending. A table of 12 can be reserved at the 'Early Bird' rate of GBP1,210 (USD1837) plus VAT, until 1 May. Individual places can also be booked at GBP110 (USD167) plus VAT until 1 May.

Contact Jacquie Corderoy on +44 0207 836 5522 for further details or visit the UKWA website to download a booking form.
